Mental Health & Wellbeing

It is estimated that at any given time 1 in 4 people will be experiencing a mental health problem. Students are more likely to experience mental health difficulties than other young people. No one need be alone with this experience.

The mental health and wellbeing co-ordinator, Annie Higgs, is available to support you with a range of mental health and well being issues within a confidential service. This is achieved by listening to what you have to say, offering information, developing coping strategies and or problem solving.

In negotiation with you, Annie can also liaise with others, such as the university’s Disability, Dyslexia and Learning Support Advisors, Counsellors and or NHS staff, such as your GP. You may also continue to meet Annie regularly.

Most people find that in getting in touch early they avoid more complicated issues in the longer term.
