The University has four campuses - three in Cheltenham and one in Gloucester.

Cheltenham and Gloucester are well served by national rail, air and coach links, providing easy access to and from the region.

Journey Planning

Road Links

If you have to travel by road, Cheltenham and Gloucester are close to the motorway and dual carriageway network, both being only a short distance from the M5 (junctions 10, 11 and 11a). London is two and a half hours away via the A40/M40 (via Oxford) or the M4 (Swindon exit). See also the Coach Links section below.

Rail Links

Cheltenham Spa and Gloucester are well served by direct rail services from London Paddington, Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham and Nottingham. The railway station in Cheltenham is in southwest Cheltenham, a mile from The Park campus, while Gloucester station is a mile away from Oxstalls.

Coach Links

National Express and local bus/coach services run from the Royal Well bus station in Cheltenham town centre, around a mile from The Park campus, half a mile from Francis Close Hall and two miles from Pittville Studios. National Express and local services run from Gloucester bus station, about a mile from Oxstalls campus. On Saturdays please leave extra time for your journey as Cheltenham has a thriving (and busy) town centre.

Airport Links

London Heathrow airport is less than 100 miles (160km) from Cheltenham and Gloucester. There is a rail/bus link via Reading and a direct National Express coach service. Both Birmingham and Bristol airports are around 50 miles (80km) from Cheltenham and Gloucester, and are easily accessed using public transport.

Bicycles

The University of Gloucestershire Bicycle User Group was set up to encourage cycling to and from the University and between sites. They have links to the Cheltenham Cycle Campaign and meet regularly to promote the use of bicycles and highlight cyclists’ issues in Cheltenham and Gloucester.
