Paula Douce

Lecturer in Dance and Choreography

I started dancing at the age of two and have loved it ever since. Teaching dance is a passion rather than an occupation and dancing and teaching is a real joy, especially here at University of Gloucestershire on the Performing Arts Degree.

Biography

I am fully qualified to teach a variety of genres including ballet, tap, jazz and modern, all to an advanced standard. I have full teaching status with both the Imperial Society Teachers of Dancing and the Royal Academy of Dancing. I have taught in a variety of establishments both in the private and state sector, choreographing for performances and successfully entering candidates for examinations with both the ISTD and RAD. In 2010 I initiated the ISTD syllabi into the PFA Degree, giving students the opportunity to gain ISTD qualifications alongside their degree.

Paula initiated and is the lead on the DDE program for the Dance Degree.
