Dr Tracey Wire

Senior Lecturer in Primary Education

I work in Initial Teacher Education in the primary sector and teach across undergraduate and postgraduate courses, focusing on English, History and PSHE. I also supervise students studying for a Masters level qualifications.

Biography

Since qualifying in 1996, I have worked in a range of educational settings, supported trainee teachers and newly-qualified teachers in schools and acted as a Masters in Teaching and Learning coach. I have a strong commitment to life-long learning and a passion for ensuring that children receive the best schooling possible from teachers trained to the highest standards.

Across undergraduate and postgraduate courses, I contribute to students development of subject knowledge and pedagogical understanding in primary education in English, History and PSHE.

Research

My research focuses on sex and relationship education and the gender identity of young children.
