My passion for social care stems from a desire to promote change and address inequality and inequity. For nearly 30 years I have straddled academic and practice life - working with many different groups of people. I just love it!

I have always been passionate about working with vulnerable people - the elderly, the homeless, those selling sex, misusing drugs and alcohol. I have also managed charities, private businesses and led teams of staff ranging from 6 to 300. This means my teaching is rooted in a passion for change and practical experience that I bring to the classroom.
