Benjamin Winton

Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography

Allied Health Professions

I specialise in the reporting of musculoskeletal, chest and abdomen radiographs. I am hugely passionate about promoting the role of the advanced practitioner radiographer and the positive impact it can have on patient outcomes, as well as the complementary influence it has on my radiography.

Biography

I work as both a senior lecturer in diagnostic radiography and as an advanced practitioner radiographer.

My particular area of expertise involves the interpretation and reporting of musculoskeletal radiographs, as well as adult chest and abdomen radiographs. I have a keen interest in physics and imaging technology. I care deeply about the positive impact advanced practice and excellent quality patient care can have on patient outcomes.

I have taught radiographers at both undergraduate and postgraduate level since 2016, helping senior radiographers become advanced practitioners. I have helped support the training of ST1 radiology registrars in the field of MSK plain film interpretation in both a clinical and academic setting. I take a keen interest in clinical teaching and have participated in clinical education for radiographers, ENP's, trainee ACP's and medical students with a focus on the basics of plain film interpretation and radiography.
