Senior Lecturer in Sports Therapy

Applied Sport and Exercise Sciences

I get to work with talented athletes and travel abroad. Helping athletes return from injury is an extremely rewarding role and I hope sharing my knowledge with undergraduate students will inspire them to achieve a successful career.

During my sport and exercise degree was introduced to the role of a sports therapist. I knew that this was a job I wanted to pursue as it allowed me to combine my interests of functional anatomy and sport. I have 7 years’ experience as a sports therapist and have worked with semi-professional and national level junior ice hockey teams which have competed in tournaments in Sweden, Latvia, France and Switzerland.  I also have a particular interest in concussion education and management and have successfully helped developed an awareness campaign, ‘head check’, within professional ice hockey.
