This course will enhance the knowledge, understanding and critical thinking skills that are important to professional practitioners involved in lifestyle management within sport.
You’ll explore how theory and empirical research is applied to stimulate a solution-focused approach to the real issues relevant to lifestyle management in sport.
You’ll have regular interaction with subject experts through lectures, seminars, tutorials, subject-specific forums and student conferences. The Professional Practice framework is based around a blended delivery model that enables innovative and responsive teaching, learning and assessment strategies – both virtually and via more traditional methods. A key feature of this approach is to ensure the learning and teaching environment encourages you to increasingly manage your own learning, while recognising yourself as a member of a learning community.
The variety of connections made outside the traditional classroom enables us to ensure the time spent in class is meaningful, with high levels of engagement and learning. You’ll incorporate your professional practice using work/practice scenarios to facilitate learning. It’s this personalised, contextual approach that promotes a connection between theory and practice – and hence a deep and relevant understanding of how to develop future expertise and to influence the wider professional sector of lifestyle management in sport.
Here's an example of the types of modules you'll study (it's unlikely but the contents and structure of the course could change).
