Biography

I have been at the University of Gloucestershire since 2006. My teaching commitments include the delivery of modules that focus on all aspects of sport psychology, motor learning, and exercise and mental health. My PhD thesis investigated the characteristics of mental imagery use amongst youth sport performers and I continue to publish research in this area.

I am also keen endurance runner at club and county level and have represented England at master’s level cross country.

I am interested in imagery use for the purposes of performance enhancement. An additional research area involves investigating how various individual difference variables influence how athletes experience and attenuate physical exertion related discomfort.
