{"id":47655,"date":"2023-01-25T12:20:18","date_gmt":"2023-01-25T12:20:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/courses\/?post_type=case_study&#038;p=47655"},"modified":"2023-01-25T12:20:19","modified_gmt":"2023-01-25T12:20:19","slug":"maisys-transition-from-education-to-employment","status":"publish","type":"case_study","link":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/courses\/story\/maisys-transition-from-education-to-employment\/","title":{"rendered":"Maisy&#8217;s transition from education to employment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Maisy Watkins, Criminology and Sociology graduate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">&#8220;My role involves working with teams across the NSPCC to develop and deliver programmes to support parents, carers, and professionals to keep children safe online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">My pathway to my career really began in my 3rd year when volunteering was really encouraged, and I began volunteering at the Nelson Trust Women\u2019s Centre in Gloucester, where I was given my own case to work on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This supported my dissertation, but also helped me gain the relevant experience to secure a paid role at the Women\u2019s Centre after graduation. I then moved to Barnardo\u2019s in 2020 before starting my current role with the NSPCC in 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">A lot of the skills I learnt at the University have been transferred into all roles, such as analysing data, writing reports and being able to meet deadlines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Another huge help at the University was the emotional support from my lecturers.
