{"id":49140,"date":"2023-05-22T08:21:40","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T08:21:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/courses\/?post_type=case_study&#038;p=49140"},"modified":"2023-07-21T07:48:21","modified_gmt":"2023-07-21T07:48:21","slug":"i-am-inspired-by-my-local-community","status":"publish","type":"case_study","link":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/courses\/story\/i-am-inspired-by-my-local-community\/","title":{"rendered":"I am inspired by my local community"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Amanda Steer has a background in fashion design and is studying a<\/strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/courses\/course\/iln-ma-illustration\/\"><strong>Master\u2019s in Illustration<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had been out of this profession for a number of years while raising my own family, and eventually working with young children. Initially, I joined the MA course with a leaning towards illustrating children\u2019s books but soon found, as I had hoped, that there were many other outlets for illustration to be explored.<br><br>The facilities and opportunities at University of Gloucestershire are vast, and the technical support has been amazing. As I am now graduating, I know I will miss the studio the most. I have spent a lot of my time there developing my skills and making lifelong friends.<br><br>I am inspired by my local community and have been fortunate to work with We Create, a community arts action group, illustrating for publications.
