Working with award-winning journalists and like-minded picture editors to source the best imagery for relevant articles gave me a massive insight into the bustling industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More recently, I\u2019ve been fortunate enough to land myself a job as a Press Photographer with Britain\u2019s biggest independent press agency, SWNS. I\u2019ve been able to cover some of Britain\u2019s biggest stories during my time with SWNS, and I\u2019ve helped share the stories of some amazing people through imagery and video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Studying this course at UoG really helped to catapult me into the industry. The lecturers drilled in the fundamentals of news photography from first year onwards, aided by experience of the in-house University picture agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pathosimages.co.uk\/index\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pathos Images<\/a>. Furthermore, the ability to bring in lecturers who are still very much engaged in the industry, such as Tom Pilston, was a great benefit to me, giving me the privilege to assist him in a shoot for The Guardian.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My favourite thing about the course was the variety of modules we got to experience. From developing 35mm film, to creating photobooks, each module was different and provided a fresh challenge to explore.
