{"id":49625,"date":"2023-07-06T13:47:46","date_gmt":"2023-07-06T13:47:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/courses\/?post_type=case_study&#038;p=49625"},"modified":"2023-07-06T13:47:47","modified_gmt":"2023-07-06T13:47:47","slug":"ive-worked-with-the-helicopter-emergency-medical-service","status":"publish","type":"case_study","link":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/courses\/story\/ive-worked-with-the-helicopter-emergency-medical-service\/","title":{"rendered":"I\u2019ve worked with the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Emily is a second-year student studying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/courses\/course\/pas-bsc-paramedic-science\/\">Paramedic Science<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since starting at UoG, my learning has been a mix of both theory and practical sessions which has allowed me to learn and practise the necessary skills which I have later been able to apply in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having placement blocks with South West Ambulance Service has not only developed my knowledge but my confidence has grown as well. In addition, I have had the experience of working with the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) on jobs for placement which has not only been very exciting but incredibly insightful.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working on the ambulance with paramedics combined with teaching from lecturers with varied backgrounds has been an amazing and valuable experience to my development and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A simulated Major Incident was organised by the University incorporating all healthcare roles.
