Harrison Ferris is a current student, studying an MA in Sports Communications and Digital Media<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m really enjoying the course so far, it\u2019s an expansion of what I\u2019ve been doing over the last couple of years. I have a background in multimedia sports journalism and it\u2019s led me into the boxing industry, which I have a huge passion for. I have been a creator for 4 years.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen I was 18, I launched my own website which has turned into a small business. I\u2019ve been going up and down the country, hopping between the UK and Ireland, covering some of the biggest shows in British and Irish boxing.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I\u2019ve had the opportunity to interview so many fighters and write feature-length articles. You name it, I\u2019ve had a good go at it. It\u2019s been an experience of a lifetime over the past couple of years.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI took this course because I knew that when I came here there would be principles I would have to learn. I\u2019m not brilliant with content creation but, every single day that I\u2019ve been on campus, I\u2019ve learned something new. From using microphones in the radio studio to using software like Adobe and Capcut – whether it\u2019s big or small things.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think that\u2019s something I\u2019ve really been able to engage with and I decided to choose UoG for that exact reason. They have some of the best state-of-the-art pieces of equipment that I\u2019ve ever seen and it\u2019s been brilliant being able to get hands-on experience using these tools.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think that the biggest skill that I have learned so far is the ability to communicate. I think it\u2019s been fantastic that I can arrive feeling comfortable in my environments, create podcasts and videos, interview people, and get invaluable hands-on experience working with people.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“You don\u2019t get that as much with article writing, so the chance to get in and talk to people every day is something I will take forward with me. It\u2019s the biggest part of this degree – the hands-on experience and contacts.
