{"id":55137,"date":"2024-10-02T11:42:40","date_gmt":"2024-10-02T11:42:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/courses\/?post_type=case_study&#038;p=55137"},"modified":"2024-10-02T11:42:56","modified_gmt":"2024-10-02T11:42:56","slug":"i-really-enjoy-having-face-to-face-contact-with-patients","status":"publish","type":"case_study","link":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/courses\/story\/i-really-enjoy-having-face-to-face-contact-with-patients\/","title":{"rendered":"I really enjoy having face-to-face contact with patients"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Chaya Caullychurn is undertaking a placement as a vascular science practitioner at the Royal United Hospital, Bath.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The role involves seeing patients who have a wide range of vascular-related issues and performing scans, as well as researching different aspects of vascular issues to expand on our knowledge and skills as a practitioner.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I enjoy meeting different people as they come in for their scans and knowing I am having a positive impact on the patient, and that I am contributing towards someone&#8217;s health and positive wellbeing.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I was initially completing a BSc in Biomedical Science at Oxford Brookes University but after my first year I was very disheartened at the reality of the job as a biomedical scientist, as I really enjoy having that face-to-face interaction with a patient. I always wanted to be a scientist, hence choosing to study Biomedical Science, however, when I wanted to change to another course, I looked at different scientist courses and came across this course which I found very interesting after researching the role of vascular scientist.
