These include drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, digital technologies, photography, video, performance, text and sound.<\/p>\n\n<p>In our creative community, you\u2019ll explore the practical and conceptual possibilities of a range of different forms and media. We do this together through four distinct ways of making and thinking: Drawing, Proactivity, Studio and Curiosity. Through these, the course develops entrepreneurial and inventive creative practitioners.<\/p>\n<\/article><article tabindex=\"-1\">\n<p>The course is sustained by set scheduled contact time and independent learning hours. For 30-credit modules, you will have 72 scheduled contact hours and 228 independent learning hours. For 15-credit modules, you will have 36 scheduled contact hours and 114 independent learning hours.<\/p>\n\n<p>In your first year, you will establish a making practice trying out a multitude of different techniques, and learn how to write critically about art. <\/p>\n\n<p>In your second year, you will develop your making practice, learn how to theoretically frame your methods, and work with industry practitioners to understand the link between your making and conceptual contemporary debate. <\/p>\n\n<p>In your third year, you will learn how to sustain your making, undertake a practice-based dissertation, work towards your degree show, and develop essential understanding of working in creative industries. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Integrated foundation year<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>This course is available to study with an integrated foundation year \u2013 an extra, introductory year at the beginning of the full degree. We have placements available in a wide range of creative careers, including art therapy and prescription, education, artists\u2019 studios, theatre and film, museums and galleries.<\/p>\n\n<p>Our course has enabled our graduates to move into exciting careers. I collected photographs from my trip and a building in particular grabbed my attention. The building is situated in east Berlin and is an old apartment which was used as a squat. The structure is covered with graffiti, protest banners and political messages. I was drawn immediately by the colours, energy and visibility of the layers of history and subversive culture.&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;\u201cThe etching I made was the basis for most of the other work in the project. I collaged copies of it, trying to reproduce the visible layering of the historical place. I experimented with different materials and processes, such as plaster, oil, clay and various materials. I realised through trying out different materials that I was drawn towards charcoal and mark making. She is a contemporary artist working within sculpture, and currently exploring material meanings and taste.&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;Cow Pie measures 150cm x 170cm x 60cm and is made from cardboard, plastic, paper, textiles, paint, ceramic tiles, adhesive, faux fur, metal and wadding.&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;Cow Pie questions what gives a sculpture a creaturely presence. She has furry horns, fluffy cuffs and mosaic limbs. Standing on four short legs she sees the world from an animal level. She compares human and creaturely presences through sculptural play, and her body combines multiple material processes; traditional methods, juxtaposed with disposable materials.&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;\u201cShoddy sculptures are personified through their dressing up.
