SUMMARY:Community Tree drop-in sessions
DESCRIPTION:Community Tree drop-in sessions\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \nLocation: City Campus\, Kings Square\, Gloucester\, GL1 1AW \nDates: 31 October 2026\, 23 January 2027\, 1 May 2027 \nTime: 10am to 2pm \n	\n\n\n\n\nMembers of the public are warmly invited to join Paul Gwilt\, Senior Lecturer in Education\, Special Educational Needs\, Disability and Inclusion at three drop-in sessions at City Campus to continue the legacy of the recently unveiled Community Tree installation. This is an opportunity to have an informal chat about life at UoG and how the University can support and connect with our local community. \n\n\n\nThe drop-in sessions take place on three Saturdays: 31 October 2026\, 23 January 2027 and 1 May 2027 from 10am to 2pm. \n\n\n\nThe Community Tree celebrates connection\, belonging and shared growth. Designed and created by students\, the tree was crafted from paper and then painted and mounted onto chipboard before being displayed for permanent public view on a feature wall in the main atrium of City Campus. \n\n\n\nMembers of the local community have contributed to the project by writing messages on leaf-shaped pieces of paper\, which were then added to the tree’s branches. \n\n\n\nThe messages reflect a range of personal values\, experiences and hopes\, including: I love the diversity of the community in Gloucester and how welcoming everyone is; Don’t judge another until you’ve walked in their shoes; I am grateful for my family\, their health and happiness. \n\n\n\nThe Community Tree is located on the left-hand side of the atrium after entering City Campus through the main entrance on Kings Square. \n\n\n\nThese drop-in sessions are open to all – we look forward to seeing you there. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n Read more about the Community Tree.

SUMMARY:Education Taster Day - March
DESCRIPTION:Suitable for Year 12 and 13 (or equivalent) \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for an Education Taster Day at University of Gloucestershire\, hosted at our City Campus in Gloucester. Designed for Year 12 and 13 students\, this event offers a hands-on introduction to what it’s like to study Education at university. \n\n\n\nYou’ll take part in interactive taster sessions led by our academic staff\, giving you a real insight into the subjects we explore across our Education courses. Previous sessions have included debating mobile phone use for under‑16s\, examining the role and impact of early childhood practitioners\, and questioning whether creativity can be taught in schools. Together\, these topics reflect key debates and themes you may encounter on courses such as Primary Education and Early Childhood Studies (sessions subject to change). \n\n\n\nAlongside academic sessions\, you’ll hear about the student experience\, explore how studying Education can lead to a wide range of careers\, and take part in a student Q&A. The day also includes a guided campus tour\, giving you the opportunity to explore our City Campus\, including specialist teaching spaces and immersive learning environments. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRequest to book\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n For more information\, email outreach@glos.ac.uk
