{"id":1000,"date":"2020-09-23T14:18:01","date_gmt":"2020-09-23T14:18:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=1000"},"modified":"2025-10-16T08:06:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T08:06:07","slug":"remuneration-and-human-resources-committee-terms-of-reference","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/knowledge-base\/remuneration-and-human-resources-committee-terms-of-reference\/","title":{"rendered":"Remuneration and Human Resources Committee Terms of Reference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In accordance with the provisions of the Articles of Association:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">To review and approve as necessary the remuneration framework at an institutional level for all staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">To review and discuss the University\u2019s People Strategy, and provide Council with assurance on its implementation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">To receive an annual report on employment policy matters, including health and safety.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">To review annually the remuneration (including levels and rates of Performance Related Pay), terms and conditions of employment and all other benefits and pension rights of the Vice-Chancellor and make appropriate recommendations to Council.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">To make recommendations to Council for severance payment terms for the Vice-Chancellor taking account of Office for Students\u2019 guidance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Under delegated authority from Council, to approve the remuneration (including levels and rates of Performance Related Pay), terms and conditions of employment and all other benefits of all members of University Executive Committee (with the exception of the Vice-Chancellor).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Under delegated authority from Council, to approve severance payment terms in respect of all members of University Executive Committee (with the exception of the Vice-Chancellor) taking account of Office for Students\u2019 guidance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">To consider the remuneration of the Vice-Chancellor and members of the University Executive Committee in the context of the University\u2019s approach to rewarding all its staff and annual pay awards for all staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">To produce an annual report for Council on senior staff remuneration, considering the expectations of the Office for Students and the Higher Education Senior Staff Remuneration Code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">To receive annual reports for designated senior staff, on expenses claimed and any gifts and hospitality received, to gain assurance that no conflicts of interest have arisen and that there is no impression of impropriety.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">To consider options for succession planning for members of University Executive Committee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">In carrying out its work the Committee is to be guided by national benchmarks in the Sector and recognised good practice as well as the context in which the University operates. Its decision-making and recommendations to Council shall be consistent where applicable with the University\u2019s People Strategy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">To consider equity, diversity, and inclusion issues arising from the remit of the Committee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">To consider Risk Assessment issues arising from the remit of the Committee and to recommend, or implement, action as appropriate.
