Terms of reference<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To provide a close and ongoing link between the Foundation and the Council, and to oversee the University\u2019s mission and objects relating to its Anglican identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To enable the Foundation Fellows to support the work of the University generally, and the work of Chaplaincy specifically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To support the work of the University\u2019s Senior Chaplain and the Chaplaincy Team, noting that Chaplaincy at the University is a broad offering to students of all faiths and beliefs as well as a specific offering to students of Christian faith.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To review work undertaken by the Chaplaincy, and other areas as appropriate, and to suggest activities which will maintain and enhance the Anglican identity of the University.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To encourage the University\u2019s connection with the Cathedrals Group of Universities.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To foster good relations between the University and the Cathedral and Diocese of Gloucester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specific Policy Responsibilities <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No specific policy responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specific Responsibility for Review of University Area of Activity <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To support the work of the University\u2019s Chaplaincy, to ensure the continued Anglican identity of the University, and to maintain the link between Council and the Foundation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mode of Operation <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chair: External Member of Council<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice Chair: President of the Foundation <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officer: A member of the Governance and Legal team <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quorum <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

See after membership<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Terms of Office<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staff and Foundation representatives: 4 years in the first instance (where not ex officio) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Co-opted members: 4 years in the first instance <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student representatives: 1 year in the first instance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives may be appointed for more than one term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frequency of Meetings <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twice per year<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submission \/ Availability of Minutes <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minutes are held by the Secretary to Council and published on the University website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COUNCIL, FOUNDATION, AND CHAPLAINCY COMMITTEE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Committee shall consist of twelve persons, one of whom shall be an External Member of Council nominated Chair by Council. The Committee may decide to co-opt up to an additional three persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quorum<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Committee shall be quorate when three members, of which one must be a member of Council, are present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where the Committee is, or becomes during the meeting, inquorate, Council will be informed of these circumstances at its next meeting. The Committee Chair shall decide whether:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. to adjourn with immediate effect with a Special Meeting being summoned as soon as conveniently it may be or,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
