{"id":10386,"date":"2022-03-29T09:21:12","date_gmt":"2022-03-29T09:21:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=10386"},"modified":"2024-12-09T11:56:17","modified_gmt":"2024-12-09T11:56:17","slug":"council-foundation-and-chaplaincy-committee","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/knowledge-base\/council-foundation-and-chaplaincy-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"Council, foundation and chaplaincy committee"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Terms of reference<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To provide a close and ongoing link between the Foundation and the Council, and to oversee the University\u2019s mission and objects relating to its Anglican identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enable the Foundation Fellows to support the work of the University generally, and the work of Chaplaincy specifically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To support the work of the University\u2019s Senior Chaplain and the Chaplaincy Team, noting that Chaplaincy at the University is a broad offering to students of all faiths and beliefs as well as a specific offering to students of Christian faith. &nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To review work undertaken by the Chaplaincy, and other areas as appropriate, and to suggest activities which will maintain and enhance the Anglican identity of the University. &nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To encourage the University\u2019s connection with the Cathedrals Group of Universities. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To foster good relations between the University and the Cathedral and Diocese of Gloucester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Specific Policy Responsibilities <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No specific policy responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibility for Review of University Area of Activity <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To support the work of the University\u2019s Chaplaincy, to ensure the continued Anglican identity of the University, and to maintain the link between Council and the Foundation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mode of Operation <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chair: External Member of Council<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vice Chair: President of the Foundation <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officer: A member of the Governance and Legal team <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Quorum <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See after membership<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Terms of Office<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff and Foundation representatives: 4 years in the first instance (where not ex officio) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Co-opted members: 4 years in the first instance <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Student representatives: 1 year in the first instance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representatives may be appointed for more than one term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Frequency of Meetings <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Twice per year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reporting Line<\/strong> University Council Current Sub-Committees None <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submission \/ Availability of Minutes <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minutes are held by the Secretary to Council and published on the University website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\"><strong>COUNCIL, FOUNDATION, AND CHAPLAINCY COMMITTEE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee shall consist of twelve persons, one of whom shall be an External Member of Council nominated Chair by Council.
