Often they map single issues in the course content and link them to a UN Sustainable Development Goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Education for Sustainability (EfS) approach sets the bar higher \u2013 we want to provide joined-up learning and build skills for change. And we want all our students to experience this learning \u2013 so we are designing this joined-up approach into all course areas, supported by assessments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Anti-Greenwash Education<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022 we won funding from the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for a project to test and refine our innovative blueprint for quality standards in sustainability learning that can be applied across all courses in the Higher Education Sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"535\" src=\"https:\/\/cmsr-web-assets.glos.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/129\/2024\/06\/05084747\/EFS-Project-team-1024x535.jpg\" alt=\"EFS Project team stood smiling at the camera.\" class=\"wp-image-129000006576\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In partnership with King\u2019s College London and University of the Arts London, the project enabled students to rate sustainability learning at their university and drive quality in their courses. QAA Student Strategic Advisory Committee provided additional perspectives and institutional contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover\"><span aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-cover__background has-green-base-background-color has-background-dim-100 has-background-dim\"><\/span><div class=\"wp-block-cover__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-cover-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"heading wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a49a940fea77f1c9259c2fab2d94a488\">3 paid student team roles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-80598efaf81508fb8f35d6a379ea0141\">Worked as co-producers to run workshops and create a speed-training dashboard with 6 short films and interactive rating examples.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-df61a62428de42054a43e0590c58eb15\"><span aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-cover__background has-green-base-background-color has-background-dim-100 has-background-dim\"><\/span><div class=\"wp-block-cover__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-cover-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"heading wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">132 student assessors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Representing 9 universities and 87 courses rated their learning using the quality principles, and provided feedback.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ae917f5d717b1f66c2fd142d8f08a8be\"><span aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-cover__background has-green-base-background-color has-background-dim-100 has-background-dim\"><\/span><div class=\"wp-block-cover__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-cover-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"heading wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Student-led sector review sampled 35 universities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">They explored existing approaches to mainstreaming and quality in sustainability learning.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/cmsr-web-assets.glos.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/129\/2024\/06\/27144308\/Efs-team-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-129000006705 size-full\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading is-3 is-3--mobile\">Student insights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>45% of the UoG high volume cohort said the experience as an assessor raised their insight and expectations around EfS in their course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" no-mt\">\u201cI think this was an effective rating system to assist sustainability learning by analysing all the major corners of a student&#8217;s education, better highlighting the key issues and needs for change\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" no-mb\"><strong>UoG student<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Outputs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.glos.ac.uk\/qualityefs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Project website<\/a> &#8211; with \u2018blueprint\u2019 of quality principles and criteria for EfS for use by course teams, students, academic developers or sustainability staff, to raise EfS quality in university courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.anti-greenwash-education.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Anti-Greenwash Education kit<\/a> &#8211;
