All of our policies adhere to the principles of creating an inclusive and respectful environment, identifying sources of support for all parties and ensuring decisions are made which are credible, fair, and reflect established principles of natural justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confidentiality for parties involved is protected where appropriate, potential risks are assessed and mitigated, investigations are undertaken by appropriately trained, impartial staff and persons affected by decisions are informed in an appropriate manner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The policy followed will be the version current at time of incident being reported (rather than at time incident occurred, should there be a delay between occurrence and reporting of incident).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University also has a Dignity and Respect at Work policy<\/strong> and a Personal Relationships policy<\/strong>, which are available to staff on Staffnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University regards relationships between staff and students for whom they have, or are likely to have, any direct or indirect responsibility as an important professional issue. Personal relationships between staff and students can raise questions of conflict of interest, of trust and confidence and of equal treatment.<\/em><\/pre>\n\n\n\n
In order to maintain professional relationships with students, where the staff member has a direct responsibility for, or involvement in that student\u2019s academic studies and\/or personal welfare, staff are not permitted to enter into a close personal or intimate relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Staff have an obligation to declare an intimate or close personal relationship with any other student, for whom they do not have direct supervision, to enable the University to assess whether any potential or actual conflict of interest exists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addressing instances of harassment and sexual misconduct, the University follows its established procedures for investigation and disciplinary matters.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
