{"id":19652,"date":"2025-10-07T12:52:03","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T12:52:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=19652"},"modified":"2025-10-07T13:02:25","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T13:02:25","slug":"welcome-to-gloucestershire-award-26-27","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/knowledge-base\/welcome-to-gloucestershire-award-26-27\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to Gloucestershire Award 2026\/27"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">The award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The University will award a bursary of \u00a31,000, paid as cash, for each full-time student entering their first year of undergraduate study from an eligible Tier 1 partnership school.<br><br>Tier 1 partnership schools are colleges\/schools where the University has established contractual links (a full\u00a0list of eligible <a href=\"#schools\">Tier 1 Partners<\/a>\u00a0is available below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible students will: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">reside in the UK and be eligible for home fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">be a new entrant student to the University for the 2026\/27 academic year and starting on level 4 of your course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">be starting on the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree that charges the full University tuition fee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">have studied at an eligible Tier 1 partnership school that has signed a partnership agreement with the Outreach Team and have successfully completed a full-time, NQF level 3, further education course lasting a minimum of one year, no earlier than academic year 2024\/25.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Full details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The bursary will be paid directly into student\u2019s bank accounts in two instalments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">70% after enrolment has been completed (no later than the end of teaching week 5)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">30% at the commencement of the 2nd semester of teaching (no later than the end of teaching week 5)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Exclusions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will not be eligible for the bursary if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">they decline their place at the University of Gloucestershire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">they do not enrol for their course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">they enter the course into level 5 or above; are postgraduate, EU or international student; or studying on a franchise, hybrid or validated University of Gloucestershire course at another institution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">they hold an equivalent or higher qualification i.e. you must not already hold a qualification that is equivalent or higher to the degree that you will be undertaking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">they have been awarded another University of Gloucestershire bursary or scholarship as a maximum of one scholarship only can be awarded. In the event that students have applied or are eligible for more than one scholarship they will be awarded the scholarship with the highest monetary value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The Welcome to Gloucestershire Award\u00a0<strong>can<\/strong>\u00a0be cumulative with the Care Leaver Bursary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Important notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">The University will terminate the award for any student who ceases to be an enrolled student of the University of Gloucestershire.
