{"id":20398,"date":"2026-02-27T09:29:21","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T09:29:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=20398"},"modified":"2026-02-27T09:29:24","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T09:29:24","slug":"lifelong-learning-entitlement-undergraduate","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/knowledge-base\/lifelong-learning-entitlement-undergraduate\/","title":{"rendered":"Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) &#8211; undergraduate courses from January 2027 onwards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Student Finance England Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) \u2013 New for students starting undergraduate courses from January 2027 onwards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This information is for students starting courses from January 2027 onwards and who are ordinarily resident in England and eligible for home fees status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LLE provides eligible students in England with a total loan entitlement equivalent to four years of tuition fee loans to cover tuition fees for undergraduate study. This can be used to fund a full-time bachelor\u2019s degree.\u00a0The \u2018pot\u2019 of the fee loan funding will be registered with the Student Loans Company and drawn down for each year of study and paid to the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re starting a full-time undergraduate course, you can apply for the following government-backed support:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading is-3 is-3\">Tuition fee loan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Covers your tuition fees (up to the maximum annual fee limit).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Available for up to <strong>four years of study<\/strong> (for example, a three-year degree plus an additional year if needed).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Paid directly to your university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">No upfront payment required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading is-3 is-3\">Maintenance Loan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Helps with everyday living costs such as rent, food, travel and bills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Paid directly to you in instalments across the academic year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The amount you receive depends mainly on your household income and whether you live at home or away from home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading is-3 is-3\">Extra Support (if eligible)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You may also be able to apply for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Disabled Students\u2019 Allowance (DSA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Childcare support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Adult Dependants\u2019 Grant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Travel support for certain healthcare placements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading is-3 is-3\">Repayment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">You only start repaying when your income is above the government repayment threshold.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Repayments are based on what you earn, not how much you borrowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Plan 5 will apply to these loans.
