Tuition fees for 2026\/27 are currently \u00a39,790* for Home students and \u00a317,950 for Overseas Students.<br><sub>*Regulated fees are subject to House of Lords approval<\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Tuition Fee and Maintenance Loan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Home students may be eligible for a tuition fee loan and a maintenance loan to cover the cost of tuition fees charged. This loan is available through Student Finance England. Full details can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/apply-online-for-student-finance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gov.uk website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Training Bursaries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bursaries are available for trainees on eligible postgraduate courses in England who are not employed as a teacher. Bursary amounts will vary depending on teaching subject and degree class. <em>Students undertaking a School Direct Salaried course are not eligible for these training bursaries.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full details, including a list of the standard training bursaries available in 2026\/27, can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/getintoteaching.education.gov.uk\/funding-your-training#bursaries-and-scholarships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Get into Teaching website &#8211; Bursaries<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bursary payments are processed automatically for eligible candidates by the University, but you will need to complete a declaration form before the training bursary can be paid. This will be emailed to you in early September 2026.\u00a0Students will also be required to submit their bank details via \u2018Student Records\u2019, accessible via MyGlos to facilitate payments to be made by BACS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Payment schedules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Full-time students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Trainees will receive the bursary in equal monthly instalments from October 2026 to July 2027. All trainees must be in attendance on the course on the first day of the month in order to receive the bursary for that month. Funds should reach bank accounts on the fifth working day of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Part-time students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Trainees will receive equal monthly instalments for the duration of their course, excluding the summer period. The payment plan can be amended if necessary, students will need to discuss this with the Fees and Funding team by emailing <a href=\"mailto:bursaryclaims@glos.ac.uk\">bursaryclaims@glos.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All trainees must be in attendance on the course on the first day of the month in order to receive the bursary for that month. Funds should reach bank accounts on the fifth working day of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Scholarships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re passionate about your subject and have the potential to be an inspirational teacher you could apply for a scholarship to support your training. Scholarships are awarded to the most gifted trainees in certain subjects, in partnership with highly regarded professional subject associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full details are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/getintoteaching.education.gov.uk\/funding-your-training#bursaries-and-scholarships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Get into Teaching website &#8211; Scholarships<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">A scholarship award replaces a trainee\u2019s bursary eligibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">If you\u2019re not successful in your application for a scholarship, and secure a place on a qualifying teacher training course in England, you\u2019ll still receive the standard bursary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Scholarship payments are made in the same way as the normal bursaries and paid by the university, so trainees in receipt of a scholarship should let the university know by emailing <a href=\"mailto:bursaryclaims@glos.ac.uk\">bursaryclaims@glos.ac.uk<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Further help and advice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Gloucestershire has a dedicated Money Advice Team to offer information, advice and guidance on all aspects of student finance.
