These may include applying for a visa, paying your tuition fees, and booking accommodation, and you’ll find more information on these topics below.

Pay your Advance tuition fee

Students who require a student visa to come to the UK are required to pay an Advanced Tuition Fee of £4,000. This deposit secures your place, ensures we can process your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), and it goes toward your first year of tuition fees. Therefore your tuition fees owed at the point of enrolment will be total fees less your deposit paid and less any grant/scholarship you receive.

There are a number of ways you can pay your tuition fees. Find out more at our How to pay page.

Students who do not require a student visa will not have to pay a tuition deposit.

Full refunds can be made if a CAS has not been issued, subject to an admin fee of £175. Students can accept their offer and pay the advance payment to secure their place on the programme but hold off completing CAS shield until June/July when we hope there will be more clarity on the outcome of the MAC review.

Request a CAS for your visa application

If you require a student visa, you’ll need request a CAS by completing a form and sending it to our immigration team.

A CAS is your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, a unique sponsorship code that you get from the university to confirm your student status for your visa application. Find out more about requesting a CAS and download a request form.

Please note: we can only issue a CAS once you have accepted your unconditional offer to study at the University of Gloucestershire, and you have paid your £4,000 Advance Tuition Fee payment.

Apply for your visa

Students who require a visa to study in the UK can find out more about the application process by visiting the Visas and immigration page.

Make your funding arrangements

Funding your studies

We offer a range of grants and scholarships for international students, please see our funding page for more information.

Check your In Your Country page, for more funding for your country and talk to your representative or agent for more information on funding options.

Paying your fees and accessing your money in the UK

Arrange your UK currency and banking plans ready for your departure, if possible. You can also set up a bank account in the UK on arrival, with support from our Student Services team (you may need a letter from the University confirming your student status and local address). The UK is primarily a credit/ debit card transaction society; however, cash is still widely accepted but many businesses have become card preferential due to the COVID-19 crisis. Having access to a card that works in the UK is highly recommended.

Your tuition fees will be required to be paid in order to enrol, unless you are a sponsored student.
