If, therefore, your Student visa is due to expire before the date of your graduation ceremony, please be advised that you will need to return home and submit a new immigration application as a \u2018Standard Visitor\u2019 in order to return for the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong> if your graduation ceremony falls within the period of your current Student visa, but you leave the UK at the end of the course, we advise that you apply for fresh entry clearance as a Standard Visitor in order to attend the ceremony, and do not attempt to re-enter on your Student visa. This is because Immigration Officers could decide that you no longer meet the requirements for a Student visa and refuse you entry to the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">When to apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for a &#8216;Standard Visitor&#8217; visa can be made up to three months before the intended date of travel. For an indication of how long it may take for the application to be processed, please use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/visa-decision-waiting-times-applications-outside-the-uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the UK Visas and Immigration guide<\/a> to processing times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that during peak periods it can take much longer for applications to be processed overseas, so you should try to submit your application as early as practically possible, to avoid disappointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">How to apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For everywhere apart from North Korea, you will need to submit your application online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"acf-block acf-block--reference no-mt no-mb       \" style=\"border-color:#a5a2a2\">\n\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"columns is-flex is-vcentered is-marginless\">\n\t\t<div class=\"column is-narrow\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<span\n\t\t\t\tclass=\"reference-icon is-block\"\n\t\t\t\tstyle=\"\n\t\t\t\t\tdisplay:inline-block;\n\t\t\t\t\twidth:24px;\n\t\t\t\t\theight:24px;\n\t\t\t\t\tbackground-color:#1ca691;\n\t\t\t\t\tmask: url('https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/wp-content\/themes\/glos--parent\/resources\/dist\/img\/icons\/reference\/link.svg') no-repeat center;\n\t\t\t\t\tmask-size: contain;\n\t\t\t\t\"\n\t\t\t\taria-label=\"link icon\"\n\t\t\t\ttitle=\"Reference is a link\"\n\t\t\t><\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"column\" style=\"color:#000!important\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/apply-to-come-to-the-uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GOV.UK &#8211; Applying for a visa to come to the UK<\/a><\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<p>When you apply, you must choose the option that best describes why you are coming to the UK, e.g. choose &#8216;general&#8217; if you\u2019re visiting on holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll need to have your fingerprints and photograph (known as &#8216;biometric information&#8217;) taken at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/find-a-visa-application-centre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">visa application centre<\/a> as part of your application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Documents required for application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You should supply all relevant documents listed on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/standard-visitor-visa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the UK Visas and Immigration website<\/a>. The following documents are normally required:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Passport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Recent photographs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Bank statements and\/or pay-slips going back at least 3 months to prove you have enough money to support yourself for the duration of your visit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Evidence of your reason for travelling to the UK (e.g. travel itinerary, accommodation bookings, document confirming graduation ceremony date etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Evidence that you intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit.
