{"id":4455,"date":"2021-02-10T15:11:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-10T15:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=4455"},"modified":"2022-12-06T10:32:08","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T10:32:08","slug":"welcome-to-gloucestershire-award-2021-22","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/knowledge-base\/welcome-to-gloucestershire-award-2021-22\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to Gloucestershire Award 2021\/22"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\">The University will award a Bursary of \u00a31000, paid as a cash award, for each full-time student entering their first year of undergraduate study from eligible schools and colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Eligibility is determined by Office for Students\u2019 priorities based on the current <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/knowledge-base\/access-and-participation-plan-2020-21-to-2024-25\/\">Access and Participation Plan<\/a><\/strong> objectives (a full list of eligible schools and colleges is available below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Eligible students will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>reside in the UK eligible for home fees<\/li><li>be a new entrant student to the University for the 2021-22 academic year and starting on level 4 of your course<\/li><li>be starting on the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree that charges the full University tuition fee<\/li><li>have studied at an eligible school or college and have successfully completed a full-time, NQF level 3, further education course lasting a minimum of one year, no earlier than academic year 2020\/21.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Full details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The bursary will be paid directly into student\u2019s bank accounts in two instalments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u2022 70% after enrolment has been completed (no later than the end of teaching week 5)<br>\u2022 30% at the commencement of the 2nd semester of teaching (no later than the end of teaching week 5)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Exclusions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Students will not be eligible for the bursary if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>they decline their place at the University of Gloucestershire<\/li><li>they do not enrol for their course<\/li><li>they enter the course into level 5 or above; are postgraduate, EU or international student; or studying on a franchise, hybrid or validated University of Gloucestershire course at another institution.<\/li><li>they hold an equivalent or higher qualification i.e. you must not already hold a qualification that is equivalent or higher to the degree that you will be undertaking<\/li><li>they have been awarded another University of Gloucestershire bursary or scholarship as a maximum of one scholarship only can be awarded. In the event that students have applied or are eligible for more than one scholarship they will be awarded the scholarship with the highest monetary value.<br>o The Welcome to Gloucestershire Award can be cumulative with the Care Leaver Bursary.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading\">Important Notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The University will terminate the award for any student who ceases to be an enrolled student of the University of Gloucestershire.
