So, if you choose to move-in on Thursday 10 or Friday 11 September you will NOT be charged for these additional nights. What will my postal address be and where are my halls?<\/strong> Your postal address will be your halls\/block name and room number followed by the halls of residence address<\/a>. Your ID is also used to access other University services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Is cleaning provided in rooms and communal areas? <\/strong>No, a cleaning service will be provided in the stairwells, However, it is the students responsibility to keep rooms, kitchens, communal areas and corridors and communal toilets (where provided) clean along with transporting rubbish and waste to the relevant bins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Is bedding included and what size is my bed? <\/strong>Bedding is not provided. All Pittville rooms* feature a 3\/4 size bed (also known as a small double.) These beds are 120cm X 190cm\/ 4′ X 6’3″ in size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n *Pittville Studio rooms feature a standard size double bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How do I access the internet in my room\/halls? <\/strong>All Pittville halls rooms feature wired and Wi-Fi internet. To register simply complete their web-based registration form<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What do I need to bring?<\/strong> You can find this information on our guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Is it possible also to stay in halls again during the second year? <\/strong>Yes, students can live in Halls for each of their academic years. Information regarding returning to Halls for the next academic year will be sent to Halls students in November 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I have received a halls room offer, but it is not for the halls I wanted. Can I change it?<\/strong> We allocate rooms the date order of receiving applications so the earlier you apply, the better chance you will have of receiving your desired accommodation. If you have not received the option(s) you wanted, it is because this room type is already allocated. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change rooms at this stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Halls transfers during term time: <\/strong>we do run a room transfer scheme if you live in a university-managed halls of residence which opens 3 weeks after your contract start date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once open, you can complete a transfer form, select your desired halls within your Halls Portal. Once completed, our Halls Allocation Team will contact you to confirm if a room becomes available in this halls\/room type. Please note that there is a \u00a350 administration fee for all halls transfers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Can I extend my stay in halls after my 2026\/27 halls contract ends in June 2027?<\/strong> Short extensions will only be agreed if the course requires it but this would involve moving to a different Halls complex. There will be other halls options available during the summer period for students who want to stay. An email will be sent to all halls students regarding summer accommodation options in March\/April 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What if I accept my halls room but no longer require it?<\/strong> Please email accommodation@glos.ac.uk<\/a> as soon as possible. If you notify us 14 days before your contract start date, we will end the contract and the \u00a3200 advance rent payment fee will be returned to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After this date (ie, within two weeks before the contract start date), if notice is received, the University will return the \u00a3200 advance rent payment, minus any deductions incurred from late notification, including but not limited to the reasonable costs of additional marketing of the room and the licence is ended. If you notify us on or after your contract start date you will be liable for rent for the year unless a suitable replacement student is found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What happens with my halls of residence contract if I withdraw from university after I\u2019ve moved in?<\/strong> We will end your halls of residence contract if you withdraw or defer from university. Once the withdrawal\/deferral is complete, the student would have up to 2 weeks to vacate halls of residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The student would be charged rent up to the date you complete the withdrawal process and fully vacate (whichever is later.) They would also be charged a 4-week cancellation fee from that date. I have a motor vehicle; can I bring it with me if I live in halls?<\/strong> Unfortunately, it is a university rule that all halls students are not allowed a motor vehicle anywhere in Cheltenham and Gloucester. We must be strict regarding this as it is a condition agreed with the council when building halls and external evidence must be on file for any exceptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The main exception is for students with disabilities or a medical condition. In these cases, permission can only be considered once details are provided in writing by a medical professional. The letter must specifically mention the need for a car due to this medical condition. This evidence should be emailed to\u00a0accommodation@glos.ac.uk<\/a>. Once provided, the Accommodation Services Manager will review this evidence. If confirmed, a link to purchase the parking permit will be provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another reason permission is granted is if a student is on temporary university placement. This process involves course staff notifying the Accommodation team of a student with temporary parking permission. In these cases, permission is given for the period of placement only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is also an exception for students on the below courses who have year-long placements and are automatically given permission to purchase a permit when is goes live here<\/a> in August 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n PGCE, Occupational Therapy, Diagnostic Radiography, Healthcare Science, Nursing, Operating Department Practice, Physiotherapy and Paramedic Science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unless a student meets one of the above requirements, it would not be possible to grant permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do I need to get room insurance if I live in halls? <\/strong>All University managed halls room comes with basic contents insurance through Howden. More details will be sent to incoming halls students during summer 2026 but you can find out what is covered on our guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do I need a TV licence if I live in halls?<\/strong> Yes, if you have a TV in your room or watch content on any other device. Full information can be found on the TV licence website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Is there a bus service that runs between campuses?<\/strong> For Pittville students, The D bus runs regularly from Racecourse close to Pittville Student Village. This bus stops in the town centre along with Westall Green which is a short walk along St Stephen\u2019s Road toward Park Campus. The bus then continues onto Cheltenham Rail Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 94X bus service runs between Cheltenham town centre to Oxstalls Campus and then onto the Gloucester city centre regularly. The 94, 95 & 96 bus does the same but also stops outside Park Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Buses currently cost \u00a33* per journey.
