Once it has been used, it cannot normally be used again.<\/p>\n\n<p>If your visa application is refused, contact International Student Services before making another application. I have made a further payment to the University after receiving my CAS. Will my CAS automatically be updated?<\/label>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"panel\" hidden aria-labelledby=\"collapsibleRow_group_label_142_4990\" id=\"collapsibleRow_group_142_4990\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p>No. If you make an additional advance tuition fee payment after your CAS has been issued, do not assume that your CAS will automatically show the new payment.<\/p>\n\n<p>Contact the University using the contact details provided with your CAS so that we can check that your payment has been received and update your CAS where appropriate.<\/p>\n\n<p>Tuition fees you have already paid can normally be deducted from the amount you need to demonstrate for your visa application, where the payment is recorded on your CAS or otherwise evidenced in a way permitted by UKVI.<\/p>\n\n<p>You should therefore check the financial information on your CAS before submitting your application.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n<div  class=\"wp-block collapsibleRow \">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"collapsibleRow__wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"collapsibleRow__item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<input  type=\"checkbox\" name=\"collapsibleRow_group_1908\" class=\"is-sr-only collapsibleRow_group_checkbox collapsibleRow_checkbox\" id=\"collapsibleRow_group_1908_5814\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<label id=\"collapsibleRow_group_label_1908_5814\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsibleRow_group_1908_5814\" role=\"button\" for=\"collapsibleRow_group_1908_5814\" class=\"collapsibleRow__title base-text has-grey-light-background-color has-black-color\"><span class=\"is-sr-only\">Toggle collapsibleRow<\/span>7. Do I need a tuberculosis (TB) test?<\/label>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"panel\" hidden aria-labelledby=\"collapsibleRow_group_label_1908_5814\" id=\"collapsibleRow_group_1908_5814\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p>You will need a TB test if all of the following are true:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">You\u2019re coming to the UK for six months or more, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">You\u2019ve lived in any of these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/tb-test-visa\/countries-where-you-need-a-tb-test-to-enter-the-uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">listed countries<\/a> for six months or more, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">You were living there (or another listed country) within the last six months<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>If a test is required, it must normally be completed at a clinic approved by the Home Office.<\/p>\n\n<p>If your test confirms that you do not have TB, you will receive a certificate to use with your Student visa application.<\/p>\n\n<p>Check the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/tb-test-visa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gov.uk<\/a> tuberculosis testing guidance for the current list of countries and approved clinics.<\/p>\n\n<p>We recommend arranging your test early, as appointments may not always be immediately available.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n<div  class=\"wp-block collapsibleRow \">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"collapsibleRow__wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"collapsibleRow__item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<input  type=\"checkbox\" name=\"collapsibleRow_group_3689\" class=\"is-sr-only collapsibleRow_group_checkbox collapsibleRow_checkbox\" id=\"collapsibleRow_group_3689_9533\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<label id=\"collapsibleRow_group_label_3689_9533\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsibleRow_group_3689_9533\" role=\"button\" for=\"collapsibleRow_group_3689_9533\" class=\"collapsibleRow__title base-text has-grey-light-background-color has-black-color\"><span class=\"is-sr-only\">Toggle collapsibleRow<\/span>8. Do I need an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate?<\/label>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"panel\" hidden aria-labelledby=\"collapsibleRow_group_label_3689_9533\" id=\"collapsibleRow_group_3689_9533\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p>Some students studying or researching particular subjects at postgraduate level require an ATAS certificate. If ATAS is required for your course, this will be identified in your Unconditional offer letter, as in the example below.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-grey-mid-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-60c92ee3 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--16);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--16);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--16);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--16)\">\n<p>&#8220;Please note, it has been identified that you will require an ATAS certificate to study this programme. Please see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/academic-technology-approval-scheme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this webpage<\/a> for more information. UKVI will consider whether you are a genuine student and whether the information you have provided is credible. Your ability to communicate in English may also be considered.<\/p>\n\n<p>If UKVI asks you to attend an interview, you should follow the instructions carefully. Failure to attend without a satisfactory explanation may affect your application.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-red-coral-background-color has-background\">It is important to take your UKVI credibility interview seriously and prepare carefully. An unsuccessful credibility interview is one of the most common reasons for a Student visa application to be refused. If UKVI is not satisfied, on the balance of probabilities, that you are a genuine student, your visa application must be refused. How long will my Student visa application take?<\/label>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"panel\" hidden aria-labelledby=\"collapsibleRow_group_label_8626_7598\" id=\"collapsibleRow_group_8626_7598\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p>UKVI currently advises that Student visa applications made outside the UK are usually decided within three weeks.<\/p>\n\n<p>The time starts on the day you verify your identity, either:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">When you attend your biometric appointment at a Visa Application Centre, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">When you finish scanning your identity document using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/using-the-uk-immigration-id-check-app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UK Immigration: ID Check app<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>It does not start on the day you submit or pay for your online application.<\/p>\n\n<p>However, some applications can take longer.<\/p>\n\n<p>For example, UKVI may need additional time if:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Your supporting documents need to be verified<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">You are asked to attend an interview, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Further checks are required because of your individual circumstances<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/faster-decision-visa-settlement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Priority services<\/a> may be available in some countries for an additional fee, but availability is not guaranteed.<\/p>\n\n<p>If you\u2019re eligible, you can choose the Priority service when you apply. UKVI will not be able to provide information on the status of your application.<\/p>\n\n<p>If UKVI contacts you to request additional information, documents or an interview, respond within the timeframe they provide.<\/p>\n\n<p>If your application takes longer than the normal UKVI processing time, follow any instructions provided by UKVI. What should I do if my Student visa application is refused?<\/label>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"panel\" hidden aria-labelledby=\"collapsibleRow_group_label_6088_5087\" id=\"collapsibleRow_group_6088_5087\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p>In the first instance, please contact International Student Services to advise us of the refusal. It&#8217;s important to also upload a copy of your visa refusal notification to CAS Shield, so that we can review the reason for refusal and provide appropriate guidance.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Administrative Review<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Your refusal notification will tell you whether you can request an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/ask-for-a-visa-administrative-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Administrative Review<\/a>. An Administrative Review allows UKVI to reconsider certain immigration decisions where a caseworking error may have occurred. <\/p>\n\n<p>While it is not an opportunity to submit a completely new application or simply disagree with the UKVI decision, the review focuses on whether UKVI made a specific caseworking error when applying the Immigration Rules or assessing the evidence originally submitted with your application.<\/p>\n\n<p>It is important to note, even where an Administrative Review succeeds, there is no guarantee that the visa will ultimately be granted.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-green-base-background-color has-background\">Once International Student Services have reviewed your visa refusal notification, we will advise whether we believe you have reasonable grounds to submit an Administrative Review and whether there is a strong prospect of the decision being overturned.<\/p>\n\n<p>A refusal does not automatically mean that the University will issue another CAS.<\/p>\n\n<p>We will need to consider:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">The reason for refusal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Whether the issue can be resolved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Whether another application would meet the Student visa requirements, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Whether there is sufficient time for you to receive a decision and arrive by the University&#8217;s latest permitted start date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>You cannot continue with an Administrative Review and make a new visa application at the same time.
