{"id":8702,"date":"2021-10-14T11:42:17","date_gmt":"2021-10-14T11:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=8702"},"modified":"2025-10-23T10:57:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T10:57:10","slug":"financial-assistance-fund-2","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.glos.ac.uk\/information\/knowledge-base\/financial-assistance-fund-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial Assistance Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The University has established a Financial Assistance Fund that is open to applications from current students who can demonstrate financial hardship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading is-3 is-3\">Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible students will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">be enrolled on a degree or postgraduate qualification at the University of Gloucestershire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">be a \u2018Home\u2019 student or an EU student that started their course prior to September 2021 and are eligible for \u2018home\u2019 fees.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">have taken out their full entitlement of Maintenance Loan in the current academic year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">be studying on a University campus, not at a franchised college.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading is-3 is-3\">Exclusions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">International students are not eligible to apply for the Financial Assistance Fund.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">EU students who started their course after September 2021 are not eligible to apply for the Financial Assistance Fund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading is-3 is-3\">How to apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The application form is only accessible when students have completed enrolment and begun their course<\/strong>.\u00a0To access the form, students must log in to Student Records, go to the \u2018Bills, Funding and Finance\u2019 section, then click on \u2018Funding and Bursaries\u2019, followed by \u2018Apply for Financial Assistance Fund\u2019. All documents can be uploaded during the application process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"heading wp-block-heading is-3 is-3\">Further information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Award amounts cannot be estimated until a completed application is submitted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Assessments take up to 21 working days to complete, provided that all relevant information is submitted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Awards from the Financial Assistance Fund are means tested on each student\u2019s personal income and expenditure and as such are not guaranteed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">EU students are expected to have made sufficient provision for their living costs before undertaking their qualification \u2013 the fund should only be used by EU students if unexpected financial difficulties arise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions about the Financial Assistance Fund, please contact the Fees and Funding team on 01242 714230 or via <a href=\"mailto:bursaryclaims@glos.ac.uk\">bursaryclaims@glos.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The University of Gloucestershire has a dedicated Money Advice Team to offer information, advice and guidance on all aspects of student finance.\u00a0They provide a confidential service to prospective and current students and can be contacted by email at <a href=\"mailto:moneyadvice@glos.ac.uk\">moneyadvice@glos.ac.uk<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University has established a Financial Assistance Fund that is open to applications from current students who can demonstrate financial hardship.
