Janet Trotter Trust

Janet Trotter Trust offering bursaries up to £2,500

The University of Gloucestershire also administers the Janet Trotter Trust, which awards bursaries to individuals or groups of students for academic projects.  Calls for applications are made around 6 to 7 weeks before a trustees meeting, which are periodically held through the year (generally in November, February and June). Applications should be submitted in collaboration with your course leader and in advance of the meetings.

Criteria

  1. The Trustees will want to be assured that there is a legacy, i.e. that the benefits from the project extend beyond the students actually involved in the activity planned for (year).  This could be:

    a. new learning materials generated for future students;

    b. students who have benefitted from an award returning to the University to talk to future students about their experience; or

    c. that there is some reputational enhancement for the University.

2. As a guide, the Trust would be looking for at least 50% of the project cost to be raised from other sources and rarely awards in excess of £2,500 for a single project.

3. Applications must be supported by the Head of School, and this must be confirmed in the application.
