Literary and Critical Studies

Paul Innes has published 4 books as well as numerous articles on his specialism of Shakespeare Studies, with particular emphasis on Critical Theory and Performance Theory. He has a background in Classical Studies and has published a book on the Epic.


Paul Innes has taught at the Universities of Warsaw, Edinburgh, Strathclyde and Glasgow. He has taught across a range of metarials in English Literature, and is a specialist in Shakespeare. His secondary interests are in aspects of Critical Theory, especially gender and perfromance. He is currently working on Shakespeare's relationship with Greece and Rome, most recently publishing a monograph on his Roman plays in summer 2015.
