Matthew Lovett is Academic Subject Leader for Music and Media at the University of Gloucestershire. An award-winning musician, he specialises in composition, performance, philosophy and the political economy of music.


Matthew Lovett is an award-winning musician and academic. His current research centres on using non-philosophy alongside currents in new materialist thought as a means to understand creativity and experience in music. Recent music projects include composition & sound design for ...And The Rest Is Smoke at the 2015 Venice Biennale and the film Playing Burton, featuring his original soundtrack won Best Feature Film at the 2014 BAFTA Cymru Awards.
