Lania Knight

Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing

I've wanted to be a writer since the fifth grade. I love story, whether it's made up or true-to-life. My family is chock-full of storytellers, and I'm glad to be continuing the tradition. Chevron icon

Ever since I was assigned Sports Editor for the fifth grade newspaper in my hometown in Texas, I’ve wanted to be a writer. I didn’t get around to serious writing, though, until I went to graduate school at University of Missouri. I’ve got some publications out there (go check my website for links), and a new book coming out in 2017. I love to take my students on mini-field trips to write, pubs, coffee shops, and footpaths being some of my favourite places to write.
