I’m a musician and academic, and my main areas of teaching and research include political economy and the philosophy of music, along with composition and performance. I’ve had an intensely varied career as a creative musician; as a composer for visual media, including the BAFTA-award winning feature film Playing Burton, and the installation ‘…And The Rest Is Smoke’ at the Venice Biennale; as a performer touring in Europe, Scandinavia and the US; and I speak regularly at international conferences. My current research and forthcoming publications focus on global music economies in relation to critical and infrastructural challenges caused by technological disruption.
