I was one of the first people in the UK to be awarded a National Teaching Fellowship and be made a Principal Fellow of the HE Academy. In 2015 I was given a Distinguished Service Award by the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. I am an enthusiastic advocate of the role of student-staff partnerships in universities and am the inaugural senior editor of the International Journal for Students as Partners published by McMaster University Press.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mick is a higher education researcher and consultant and emeritus professor. He has published over 350 articles, which have been cited over 10,000 times.
