Georgia progresses to Box Office and Marketing Manager of Gladstone Theatre

As someone keen to work in the music business, I wanted to make the most of my University experience and put myself in a strong position post-graduation by building connections over my time at university, so I worked hard and took every opportunity I could.

From stage-managing at many festivals including Wychwood Festival and 2000Trees, working as production assistant for BBC Introducing, and event-managing several successful shows both in the UK and internationally, I learnt invaluable skills which I still use to this day to progress and to stay current in an ever-evolving industry.

After graduating in 2018 with first-class honours, I was offered a job at The Gladstone Theatre (an independent theatre and charitable trust, established in 1888), a company I had previously carried out work experience for during my degree. In 2018, I began my employment as a Box Office Assistant and have since worked my way up the company progressing to Box Office Manager in early 2019 and then to Box Office and Marketing Manager by mid-2019.

Liaising with companies from across the world, I am responsible for implementing, developing and managing all aspects of the theatre’s publicity, with continuity through website, social media strategy, brand and external advertisement, in fully-integrated campaigns.

I am a real believer that you should always take every opportunity you’re offered and that your degree is truly what you make it. So never be afraid to reach out and keep in touch with every contact you meet. We may seem like a big industry but you’d be surprised how integrated we really are.
