The Chief financial officer is responsible for all matters related to the university’s insurance arrangements, which aim to cover its educational, research and trading needs. The Commercial, Insurance and Procurement Team provides guidance and support for staff and students on:

• Cover advice
• Claims handling including liaison with staff, students and external service providers to ensure losses are mitigated
• Day-to-day risk management
• Training

The following covers are in place and further information is available from the insurance administrator:

• Travel cover, including business trips, field trips and students on official placements within the UK or abroad
• Motor cover
• University property and personal effects cover
• Liability covers, including employers’ liability, public and products liability, professional indemnity and clinical trials cover
