Visas and immigration
Everything you need to know about visas as a prospective or current international student at University of Gloucestershire, topics include Student visa applications, Biometric Residence Permits (BRP) and digital immigration status, working in the UK, and the Graduate route visa.
International student enrolment
If you are an international student subject to immigration control, the University will be required to check your right to study in the UK as part of your enrolment.
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) are replacing physical visas, in the form of passport vignette stickers and Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs), with an online record of your immigration status – this is known as an eVisa.
As part of the switch to replace physical documents with an online record of your immigration status, you need to create a UKVI account. This allows you to access your eVisa and share information about your immigration status and conditions, such as your right to work or rent in the UK, using the online view and prove service to generate a share code. The University will ask for your share code during the enrolment process.
For further information please visit our online immigration status (eVisa) webpage.
Student Route visa
If you are coming to the UK to study for more than six months (or a pre-sessional programme), and do not have any other type of UK immigration permission, you will need a Student visa. This page provides advice and guidance on how to apply for a Student visa from both inside and outside of the UK.
