University of Gloucestershire has a number of sites, so make sure you check where your course, event or open day is based before you travel.
Park Campus is located in Cheltenham. This campus is home to computing, engineering, design and media.

Our newest campus will place UoG right at the heart of its community, creating a vibrant hub of activity in Kings Square, Gloucester. Set to come on-stream in 2025, it will provide a modern centre for teaching, learning and community partnerships.

There are plenty of options available to help you get around Cheltenham and Gloucester easily, cheaply and safely. Travelling by foot, bike, e-scooter or bus are great ways to discover the local area and enjoy the benefits of low carbon travel.

Travelling to the University by car is simple – the central location of Cheltenham and Gloucester puts the University within reach of many major towns and cities.
If you’re living in halls, you aren’t allowed to bring a car (or any other motor vehicle) as a condition of your contract, unless you have special circumstances (accessibility, course needs etc) which are approved by our accommodation team prior to arrival.
Our locations are near to the M5 and A417. Cheltenham and Gloucester benefit from excellent connectivity both regionally and nationally.

To use the electric charging points, you need to register on the EV charging app. Please note, to park your vehicle on campus, you will need a staff or student parking permit, or you can pay via the pay and display machines or JustPark app.
Sometimes, our car parks can get extremely busy, which is why we have a couple of alternative car parks available that you can use.
For Gloucester, the closest car park to Oxstalls Campus is the Oxstalls Sports Arena (GL2 9DW). Parking is free; however, spaces are limited.
For Cheltenham, you can park your vehicle in the Park & Ride, Cheltenham Racecourse (GL50 4SH) – Closest to Pittville and FCH campus. Parking is free, and the service runs every few minutes. Please note that times may vary on Sundays.
Cheltenham’s new Arle Court Transport Hub (GL51 6SY, and signposted Park & Ride from the M5 Junction 11) is now open for parking. It improves connectivity and enables more journeys to central Cheltenham, Gloucester, the railway station, and local hospitals by sustainable modes of travel.
The Arle Court car park is open between 6.30am and 9pm. Pullmans Bus Service 100 bus takes you to Cheltenham town centre every 20 minutes and Service 99 takes you to Gloucester. Parking is free for those who use this car park for Park & Ride, charges apply to non-Park & Ride users.
Students and staff who would like to park their vehicle overnight must request authorisation. Students and staff should refer to our internal channels on MyGlos or Staffnet for further information on parking.
If you’re travelling from home or living in private accommodation and you need to drive, you can either purchase an annual parking permit to park on university grounds or pay on the day. Details are available on MyGlos or Staffnet.
If you choose to pay on the day, you can use the using the onsite pay and display machines or pay by phone.

Stagecoach singles are currently capped at £2 by the Government (until 31 December 2024). Stagecoach also offers several other flexible multi-day ticket options, which are available to all customers.
If you’re a student at UoG, you can purchase StudentRider discounted tickets via the Stagecoach website.

Pittville night bus | The Pittville night bus is a free, two-way shuttle bus that runs on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights between Pittville Student Village and MooMoo nightclub in Cheltenham town centre. The bus runs continuously from 10.30pm to 4am and is a great way to get safely to and from town if you’re planning a night out. |

Pittville Student Village is located just a 10-minute walk through Pittville Park (low-level lighting in the evenings) to Francis Close Hall and Cheltenham town centre. Alternatively, you can reach Francis Close Hall campus in 25-minutes via well-lit streets (via Central Cross Drive and Albert Road route).
Park campus is also a 54-minute walk away from Pittville.
Francis Close Hall is a 6-minute walk to Cheltenham town centre and a 30-minute walk to Park Campus.
Park Campus is an 11-minute walk to Cheltenham town centre and 38-mintute walk to Francis Close Hall campus.
Park to Pittville Student Village is a 50-minute walk, we recommend to take the bus or bike.
Oxstalls Campus is a 15-minute walk to the Oxstalls Sports Arena and a 25-minute walk to our new Gloucester city campus, located in the heart of Gloucester.
Due to the long distance, it is not recommended to walk from our Gloucester campuses to Cheltenham. We recommend bus, bike or car.

FCH – Park Campus distance is 1.5 miles, which is a 10-minute bike journey.
FCH – Pittville Student Village distance is 1 mile, which is a 7-minute bike journey.
Park Campus – Pittville Student Village is 3.5 miles, which is a 15-20 minute bike journey.
Oxstalls – Park Campus distance is 8 miles, which is a 35-40 minute bike journey.
Oxstalls – FCH distance is 7 miles, which is a 30-35 minutes bike journey.
If you’re not confident or want some practice on your bike before you go on the road, lessons are available via Gloucestershire County Council with Bikeability.
We have a large number of bicycle loops across all our campuses. There are also 5 bike lockers at Oxstalls, a bike shed at Pittville Student Village and one at Hardwick. Another bike shed is being constructed shortly at Francis Close Hall.
Make sure you take the necessary steps to protect your bike from theft whilst out and about.
Hop on one of the electric scooters you can find around Cheltenham and Gloucester, which are available to hire for only 17p per minute. They are a convenient, fun, eco-friendly and affordable way of travelling to your favourite spots around campus.
To hire a Voi e-scooter, you need to hold a provisional driving licence and have downloaded the Voi App on your phone (Apple app store | Google play store). No keys, cash, ID cards, or deposits are needed, after just a few clicks on the app, you can immediately hop on and enjoy your ride.

Please ensure you scoot safely and responsibly on the road and never ride on the pavement. Please use cycle lanes if they are available. Pavement riding creates danger for pedestrians, especially those with visual impairment. Please do not scoot under the influence of drugs or alcohol either. This is also dangerous for yourself, pedestrians and other road users. Any breaches of these rules can lead to implications including gaining points on your license and receiving fines.
Please be aware that you must never travel to or around campus on a privately owned e-scooter, as it is against the law to use one on public roads.

Voi offers its scooter customers the opportunity to attend their online Traffic School to learn how to Voi safely or join an in-person training session – details of their next available dates are listed on Eventbrite.
Cheltenham and Gloucester have direct train links to major cities such as London, Birmingham and Bristol. To get from Cheltenham to Gloucester or vice-versa, it is an 8-minute train journey.
The closest rail station is Cheltenham Spa – about 25 minutes’ walk from Park campus and a 30-minute walk from FCH.
The closest station is Gloucester Railway Station – about 20-minute walk to Oxstalls campus and 7-minute walk to City Campus.

We are approximately an hour by car from Birmingham and Bristol Airport and less than two hours from London’s Heathrow Airport.
