How to pay

Paying your fees

It is a condition of registration that you pay your tuition fees. This section will support you in making arrangements to pay your tuition fees and other fees incurred.

Please see below for the details on the different payment options available or make a payment online now using MyBills.

Please ensure that you are also familiar with the conditions outlined in the relevant Tuition Fee Policy which is accepted by students as part of enrolment.

Tuition fee fraud

Increasingly, students are being approached by individuals offering to pay their fees at reduced rates or under special conditions. Fraudsters may present themselves as legitimate agencies or associates, they may be a friend. Follow the below tips to stay safe:

More information on this can be found in leaflets produced by the police in English and Mandarin.

International students

There are a range of payment options available to international students to meet the need for flexibility when it comes to paying tuition fees. Details of these and links to the relevant platforms are provided below.

Bank transfer

International student fees can be paid using our international payment platforms, Convera and Flywire.

Instalment by direct debit

Please refer to the relevant Tuition Fee Policy for eligibility and instalment terms. Please note: there is a maximum of two instalments for international students using this method.

If you want to pay by instalments you must set up a UK current bank account so we can set up a Direct Debit.

Check if the bank you already have an account with operates in the UK too, as that might be easier to just open a UK-based account with your current bank. If not then you will need to open a UK bank account.

How to open a UK bank account

Sometimes it is possible to open your account from abroad, before you arrive in the UK.

Some accounts can be opened online or in-person, opening an account in person maybe easier in case there are complications.

Documents needed to open your account are:

  • Your full name, home address, home telephone number, your campus telephone number and your college address
  • Your passport
  • Any secondary form of identification (such as your student ID card, birth certificate, driver’s license, or a letter from the international students and scholars office at your university)
  • A letter of acceptance from your university
  • An amount of money to deposit into the account (this will vary between banks)

These requirements may be slightly different across banks, so make sure you check what your bank requires beforehand.
