University Media Festival proving a streaming success

In a county rich with festivals, from jazz to science, and onion-eating to literature, the University of Gloucestershire are hosting their own special Media Festival this week – and you don’t even need to leave your home to watch all the action. The festival, running until Friday 13 November, sees a host of guest speakers and events coming to the University to discuss all things media – and University students are live streaming it all online.

All events are taking place at the University’s Media School at Park campus, Cheltenham, and speakers include the man who voices Siri, a CBeebies executive producer, music makers and managers, BBC engineers, journalists and the Head of International Outreach at DreamWorks.

Tom Soper, Senior Lecturer in Popular Music, said, ‘the festival is a great opportunity for students to practise their skills and deliver the content live. Anybody can watch the events as they unfold online and given the brilliant speakers visiting us, we think that it will be of interest to a wider audience.’

Check out the schedule of what’s coming up and watch the live streaming on the Media Festival website.
