University of Gloucestershire General Election hustings debate

​The University of Gloucestershire will be hosting a General Election hustings debate in partnership with BBC Radio Gloucestershire on the 17 May. The debate will be produced and directed by the University’s Media School students and streamed via Facebook live. BBC Radio Gloucestershire will also be recording the event for broadcast.

The panel will include the main parliamentary candidates for Cheltenham. The Head of the University’s Media School, Anne Dawson will chair the debate and will be joined by BBC Radio Gloucestershire presenter David Smith.

There are limited tickets available for this event. As a result of BBC election guidelines, tickets are by application only. 50% of the ticket allocation will be prioritised for University of Gloucestershire students, with the remaining seats available for staff and members of the public. To apply for a ticket, fill out this audience application form (link removed as event has finished) and email  it to radio.gloucestershire@bbc.co.uk. If successful, they will email you an e-ticket which you must bring with you to gain entry to the debate. On the form you will also be asked if you would like to submit a question to the panel on the night.

The debate will be held at Park campus lecture theatre TC007. Refreshments will be on offer from 6pm, audience must be seated by 6.30pm. The debate will start at 7pm. It will last for approximately one hour.
