Dr Elizabeth Swift

Senior Lecturer in Performing Arts

My background is in theatre directing and writing and I specialise in multimedia theatre. I'm founder director of the performance company Void which presents work internationally. I teach contemporary performance - practice and theory.

Biography

As a theatre director I have run my own touring company as well as working on large scale commissioned performances. Recent projects include The Two Sided Boy, a digital opera shown at the as part of the ‘Opera and the Media of the Future Conference’ at Glyndebourne, and Babble, a digital/ live performance which took place partly in an online virtual world and toured to 12 countries. I directed a performance for the Royal opening of the Hive Library, Worcester, by the Queen.

Teaching

Liz teaches on the Drama and Performing Arts BA courses in the areas of contemporary and multimedia theatre. She also supervises dissertations.
