Biography

Following 10 years working as a secondary science teacher and another 22 working in Higher Education, I currently lead the PGCE Secondary Biological Science Programme. I also contribute to professional studies and primary science modules, and have previously led academic study skills and Thinking Skills modules. As timetable co-ordinator, I oversee the scheduling and rooming of all ITE modules. I also act as Academic Conduct Officer. My research interests relate to developing Science Capital, Assessment and the utilisation of AI.

I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I am a member of the Association for Science Education and the Universtiy and College tutors Union.

Teaching & Research

Teaching

I support students’ development of scientific and pedagogical understanding and the development of core graduate and academic skills. I support students in collecting and validating evidence to support the award of Qualified Teacher Status.
