University Archive

Dating from the 1820s to the present day, the University Archive charts the history of the institution and the students who studied here.

Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society Library

We are custodians of this research library, spanning 12,000 titles dating from 1520 to the present day and covering the history and archaeology of Bristol, Gloucestershire and the wider UK.

The library is available to search on the university’s library catalogue​.

Local Heritage Initiative Archive

A Heritage Lottery funded project where communities across England were commissioned to produce material on their unique local heritage, from drama and music to local and oral histories.

Gloucestershire Poets, Writers and Artists Collection

An umbrella-collection incorporating material on the renowned Dymock Poets, The Cyder Press, U A Fanthorpe, James Elroy Flecker, Michael Henry, Rebecca Tope, The Whittington Press, and the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail.

Independent Television News (ITN) Image Archive

Photographic stills from the 1960s – 1990s documenting national and international news. Subjects covered include politics, crime, sport, notable people and even the abominable snowman.

Artists’ Books Collection

Covering a diverse range of topics, the Artists’ Books Collection presents the concept of the book as an art form.
