Literary and Critical Studies

Dr Webster works on the intersection of popular culture, religious belief and philosophical reflection. He is interested in how these all impact on the way we choose to live, and the choices we make in relation to our fellow sentient beings.

Biography

Dr Webster did his first degree (in Religious Studies and Philosophy) at Sunderland Polytechnic, then a Masters in Contemporary British Hinduism (MLitt) at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He studied his PhD with Professor Peter Harvey at the University of Sunderland, in Buddhist Studies. As well as working for the Open University, and a variety of adult education providers and Universities, David has been at Gloucestershire since 2000, and teaches in a range of topics, as well as publishing and speaking in a range of settings.
