Award-winning writers to feature at UoG’s inaugural Creative Writing Festival

The University’s first Creative Writing Festival, taking place on 29 November, will be a celebration of writers, readers and community, offering a unique opportunity to connect, discover and be inspired.

Hosted at Park Campus, the free one day event will bring together students, writers, the industry and the local community in a vibrant space to connect, discover new voices and share their passion for writing. The event will run from 10am-4pm, offering an inspiring mix of panel discussions, author conversations and networking opportunities.

Attendees will be able to meet acclaimed novelists, poets and editors; drop by author tables in the exhibition area; and listen to themed panel discussions exploring craft, publication and purpose.

Festival organiser Dr Senja Andrejevic, Academic Course Leader for English Literature and Creative Writing, said: “We wanted to create something that celebrates stories in all their forms – novels, poems, plays, short fiction – while connecting the University, the publishing world and our local community.

“The response has been incredible – we have almost 200 attendees and 20 panellists taking part in the festival. It promises to be an inspiring day, and we look forward to welcoming students, staff, industry professionals and local writers and reading groups.”
