The annual conference for the School of Arts, Culture and Environment will take place at Francis Close Hall on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 May, from 9.30am to 3.30pm, and registration is now open for anyone who would like to attend, either in person or via Teams. We welcome all staff and students from the University, as well as alumni and members of the local community, to join us.

Across the two days, staff and students from the School and Countryside and Community Research Institute will share presentations on a wide range of research and creative practice that responds to the broad theme of Creative Environments: Stories, Ethics, and Practice.

Topics will include creativity and ethics, community engagement in reimagining urban and rural landscapes, literary representations of climate apocalypse, and different forms of ecological storytelling. The conference will offer a great opportunity to explore the innovate research and creative practice taking place across the School, and network with the academics engaged with these projects.

Attendance, including refreshments and lunch, is free. You can book your space using the form below.

If you have any questions, please email [email protected].

We look forward to welcoming you to the conference!
