International Development Lead

Marketing, Events and Hospitality

I am passionate about developing international collaborations, either through academic partnerships or international projects. My academic expertise and interests include strategic tourism management, destination and organisational resilience, and the use of power in business negotiations.

Biography

Leading the international development activities in the University of Gloucestershire School of Business and Technology, Nadine has a wealth of experience in developing and managing international collaborations worldwide. She is a member of the project management team overseeing the “Growing Indonesia – a Triangular Approach” project that has attracted a million Euro of EU funding to develop entrepreneurial capacity across Indonesia through university-enterprise collaboration, graduate entrepreneurship and enterprise creation. She is currently working with universities, public and non-governmental sector organisations in Indonesia to envision future strategies for building Indonesia’s socio-economic and disaster resilience.

Besides her practical experience in international negotiation, Nadine has carried out research into business contract negotiations with a particular emphasis on understanding the behavioural and contextual aspects of negotiations. She uses these insights to inform her pedagogy in delivering negotiation skills training to undergraduate and MBA students. Nadine holds a Master of Science (MSc) focused in International Hotel and Tourism Management from Oxford Brookes University.

In the past, Nadine was a visiting lecturer to the International School of Management, Dortmund, and the University of Applied Sciences, Kempten, in Germany. She has worked for several years in the European hotel and resort industry and is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.

Research

Nadine's research concentrates on the use of different sources of power in business negotiation. She has developed a methodology for studying the anatomy of negotiations and negotiation behaviour integrating multiple ontological and epistemological perspectives. Her work has been inspired significantly by the Program of Negotiation at Harvard Law School and her experience and observations of negotiations across the UK and international public and private sectors.
